Accounts Payable City of London Client

My client is currently in major expansion mode and is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team. This role will support the smooth running of the accounts payable function, ensuring invoices, approvals, payments, reconciliations and supplier queries are managed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities will include

• Obtaining purchase approvals from the appropriate authorised personnel in line with the Schedule of Delegated Authority (SoDA).
• Processing and matching invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Supporting process and system improvements, including the implementation of a data-capturing tool.
• Maintenance of electronic records of invoices and approvals.
• Maintaining the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure bills are paid on time, while taking cash flow requirements into account.
• Complying with GDPR and cyber risk policies.
• Preparation and processing of weekly payment runs.
• Posting bank payments accurately.
• Completion of monthly reconciliations of intergroup transactions and disbursements prior to invoice settlement.
• Resolving queries with suppliers and internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
• Reconciliation of supplier statements regularly and addressing discrepancies promptly to ensure all costs are accurately captured.
• Working with the Working Capital Manager to update and maintain the cash flow forecast with upcoming payments.
• Provide month-end support in relation to accrual requirements and cut-off procedures.
• Assist with the processing of Group Company credit cards.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and a professional approach to working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
