Head of Construction Health and Safety - Client Side

Salary: circa £105,000 plus benefits

Are you an experienced H&S leader with a strong construction background?

Do you want to drive safety standards on major building projects and construction sites?

We are seeking to identify a new Head of Construction Health and Safety to join a leading real estate developer/owner, committed to delivering large-scale, complex projects safely and efficiently. This role will put you at the forefront of health and safety management across multiple active construction sites, whilst managing a team and reporting to the Group Director.

Key Responsibilities for this role will be

• Oversee safety strategies and implement H&S policies tailored for high-profile construction projects
• Lead site safety teams, ensuring adherence to all UK health and safety legislation and industry standards
• Oversee risk assessments, site audits, and safety inspections across diverse construction environments
• Investigate major incidents and accidents, supporting site teams to implement corrective measures
• Promote a culture of safety excellence among construction managers, subcontractors, and site personnel
• Liaise with project managers and clients on safety planning and compliance

Candidate Requirements

• NEBOSH Diploma / equivalent (ideally CMIOSH)
• Extensive experience leading construction health and safety for large or complex projects (client side or tier 1 PC)
• In-depth knowledge of construction-specific H&S legislation, regulations, and best practices
• Proven ability to manage safety on multiple active sites simultaneously
• Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels of site teams and senior management
