ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham seeking a Year 2 Teacher to join their team from September. This full-time, long-term position offers full class teaching responsibilities for the entire academic year, providing an exciting opportunity to lead a Year 2 class within a supportive and collaborative school community.

This Year 2 Teacher role in Lewisham would suit experienced Primary Teachers or confident ECTs looking to further develop their career within Key Stage 1 while taking on full classroom responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities of Year 2 Teacher

Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

Plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 2 pupils.

Take full responsibility for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.

Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 curriculum expectations through engaging and well-structured learning.

Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.

Contribute to wider school responsibilities, including staff meetings, parent consultations and school events.

The Ideal Candidate Will

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).

Be a confident ECT or experienced teacher with experience teaching within Key Stage 1.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.

Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.

Be confident using assessment to inform planning and accelerate pupil achievement.

Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Work effectively as part of a team and communicate positively with staff, pupils and families.
