Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Corporate Tax Consultant role based in Toronto, ON. The person in this role will advise corporate clients on complex tax matters, including tax planning strategies, compliance requirements, and implications of current tax law.

Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns, supporting tax audits, identifying tax efficiencies, and providing detailed technical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders. The consultant will monitor legislative changes, interpret regulatory updates, and translate them into practical recommendations for clients.

The role also involves collaborating with finance and legal teams, mentoring junior tax staff, and contributing to process improvements and best practices in corporate tax management.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the role

Strong skills in Tax Planning and Tax Preparation to develop effective strategies and accurately prepare corporate tax filings.

Proficiency in Tax Compliance and Tax Audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manage reviews by tax authorities.

In-depth knowledge of Tax Law to interpret legislation, assess risk, and provide informed advice on complex corporate tax issues.

Relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA or equivalent) and several years of progressive experience in corporate tax consulting or a similar role.

Advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

Experience with tax software and ERP systems; proficiency in spreadsheet and reporting tools.

Commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and staying current with Canadian and international corporate tax regulations.
