Market Risk Analyst, Fall 2026 (Co-op/Internship)

About the role

This is a 4-month Market Risk Analyst internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will support the execution of accurate reporting solutions for risk, regulatory, and management information. This role involves analyzing data to solve strategic problems and providing insights to internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Lead or assist with the maintenance, monitoring, and reporting of risk reporting strategies.
• Design, develop, and implement reporting solutions to meet management and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with data owners to identify and select appropriate data sources from internal and external systems.
• Analyze data to highlight trends, variances, opportunities, and exposures.
• Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of analytical and reporting solutions.
• Prepare data for internal and external audits and support the creation of dashboards and ad-hoc reports.
• Apply the bank's Risk Management Framework to ensure decisions align with business strategy and regulatory requirements.

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Finance.
• Typically 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, and AI-driven productivity tools.
• Knowledge of risk management metrics, KPIs, KRIs, and reporting techniques.
• Understanding of industry trends and regulatory requirements related to risk reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
