Cafe Barista & Retail Associate

Nadège Patisserie is a boutique bakery and retailer that combines the art of French pastry with fresh, modern panache.

We are seeking a dynamic, skilled professionals to join our talented and growing team at our Downtown locations!

Part time - 10-20 hrs per week- MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY ON WEEKENDS*

What You'll Do

• Deliver excellent customer service; initiate dialogue and develop rapport with guests by learning their names, favourite drinks, and food items such as pastries; engage guests in conversation
• Accurately and efficiently take customer orders, including special requests and modifications.
• Grow the customer base, upsell products, inform customers of new products/promotions, and maintain a positive public image.
• Address inquiries, and resolve or escalate issues and complaints.
• Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas.
• Assist with stocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.

What You'll Need

• Previous barista or similar customer service experience preferred.
• Sociable and outgoing; enjoys conversing with people.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to sell/upsell products.
• Passionate for food & pastries.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
• Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs, and stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Current Food Handlers Certificate (or willing to obtain).
