Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Refrigeration and HVAC Technician/Mechanic role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The technician will install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, HVAC, and related mechanical systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, completing service calls, and documenting work performed in accordance with company and regulatory standards. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications, coordinating with team members and clients, and recommending equipment upgrades or improvements where needed.

The technician will also support handy maintenance services, addressing minor repairs and general mechanical upkeep on client properties.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.

Working knowledge of plumbing systems relevant to HVAC and refrigeration installations and service.

Solid understanding of electricity, including safe work practices around electrical components and controls.

Relevant environmental and safety knowledge (e.g., EPA or equivalent refrigerant handling certification/qualification).

Apprenticeship or trade certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, or a related mechanical field.

Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC/refrigeration systems and associated tools and test equipment.

Ability to work safely on-site, follow company and regulatory safety procedures, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations within the Greater Toronto Area as required.

Effective communication skills, professional client interaction, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
