Fine Dining Server

As a Server at George Restaurant, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention provides a memorable impression for guests making them feel welcome and valued.

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the floor manager and General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Ensures all guests have a memorable experience in dining.
• Sets up food & beverage service for George Restaurant.
• Ensure exceptional service to guests with strong sales skills to increase average cheque.
• To demonstrate a complete understanding of Restaurant Policies & Procedures and Service Standards as outlined in service manual.
• Have complete knowledge of the Menu; Beverage lists and all other special promotions.
• Thorough knowledge of all food menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• To be able to answer any Guest questions about menu items in an informative and helpful way.
• Ensures all bills are handled in an accurate manner.
• Adheres to Health & Safety policy and ensuring safe work practices are followed at all times.
• Adherers to all allergy policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience in a high volume, fine dining/upscale restaurant required, 3-5 years minimum.
• Experience with tasting menus a strong asset
• Strong knowledge of wine and spirits - certification in Wine an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food pairing and menu descriptions coupled with a passion for food.
• Good comfort level with Jonas POS system.
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Must be professional, personable and well-presented
• Ability to work flexible hours – weekends and evenings as required
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have exceptional organizational skills and must be detail oriented

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Ability to stand and be mobile for up to 8 hours
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders and stairs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
