We are seeking an experienced Lead Senior Civil Engineer, Land Development who combines exceptional Civil Engineering expertise with project leadership, client relationship management, team development, and practice growth skills.
This role is ideal for a highly capable Civil Engineer with demonstrated experience delivering land development, water resources, and municipal infrastructure projects in accordance with Ontario municipal standards, approval processes, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will possess expertise in feasibility studies, land development, site plan development and design, parking lot design, stormwater management and urban drainage systems, municipal servicing, Watermain Hydraulics Analysis (WHA), erosion and sediment control, Low Impact Development (LID), and the detailed design of municipal infrastructure.
A strong understanding of development approvals, municipal engineering standards, and regulatory requirements is essential.
While leadership and client engagement are important aspects of this role, we are ultimately seeking a strong Civil Engineer with the technical expertise to lead complex land development projects from concept through construction.
Reporting to the Senior Leadership, you will serve as a technical leader within the Civil Engineering team, guiding project delivery, mentoring junior staff, working directly with clients and municipalities, and contributing to the continued growth of Mantecon's Land Development practice.

What You'll Do
Civil Engineering Leadership
- Act as the lead Civil Engineer responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of subdivision, site plan, and municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
- Provide technical oversight and engineering review of civil design deliverables including grading plans, municipal servicing, stormwater management systems, roadway design, and related infrastructure.
- Lead feasibility studies and engineering analyses supporting land development projects.
- Oversee site plan development and design, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects.
- Lead parking lot design and associated grading, drainage, servicing, and access requirements.
- Design and review Best Management Practice (BMP) stormwater solutions including stormwater ponds, constructed wetlands, infiltration systems, and stormwater filters.
- Develop and implement Low Impact Development (LID) solutions to support sustainable stormwater management objectives.
- Conduct Watermain Hydraulics Analysis (WHA) and support municipal water system evaluations and upgrades.
- Lead the design and technical review of grading, municipal servicing, roadway, stormwater management, drainage, and water distribution systems while ensuring compliance with Ontario municipal standards and industry best practices.
- Oversee the preparation and review of Functional Servicing Reports, Stormwater Management Reports, Master Servicing Studies, engineering briefs, and supporting technical documentation.
- Guide projects through municipal approvals, agency reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Review detailed engineering designs, Civil 3D models, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure technical excellence and constructability.
- Apply advanced knowledge of Ontario municipal engineering standards, development approvals, and industry best practices to deliver practical, technically sound solutions.
- Review, approve, and seal engineering drawings, reports, and supporting documentation as required.
Project & Client Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for developers, municipalities, utilities, approval agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Lead client meetings, technical presentations, and design review discussions.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
- Support projects during construction through field reviews, contract administration, RFI responses, and coordination with contractors and owners.
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with clients, municipalities, and industry partners through exceptional service and technical expertise.
Team Development & Growth
- Mentor and support engineers and designers.
- Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, technical standards, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support proposal development, fee estimates, project pursuits, and client presentations.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of Mantecon's Land Development practice.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and service offerings.
