Job Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Retail Store Manager (National Support) is responsible for providing management cover and operational support across our retail stores throughout the UK. This field-based role ensures stores continue to operate efficiently during periods of annual leave, sickness, vacancies and increased trading activity.

The role is primarily focused on stepping into Retail Store Manager positions where required, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of stores, leading teams, maintaining company standards and delivering an excellent customer experience.

In addition to providing store management cover, you will support new store openings, store relocations, refurbishments and other operational projects across the retail network.

This is a varied, hands-on position requiring regular travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays. You will quickly adapt to different stores, confidently lead teams, support colleagues and ensure stores continue to perform effectively in the absence of the permanent Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Retail Store Manager cover across stores nationwide during holidays, sickness, vacancies and other planned or unplanned absences.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of stores while providing management cover.
• Lead, motivate and support store teams to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safeguarding and Health & Safety requirements.
• Manage cash handling, banking, till procedures and daily reconciliation.
• Support recruitment, induction and on-the-job coaching where required.
• Monitor store standards, merchandising and stock presentation.
• Receive, process, replenish and control stock.
• Support new store openings, refurbishments, relocations and closures.
• Complete store administration, reports and operational paperwork accurately.
• Travel throughout the UK to provide operational support wherever required.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the retail network.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Retail Operations Team.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience managing or supervising a retail store.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with cash handling, banking and EPOS systems.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different store environments.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Access to a vehicle.
• Flexibility to travel nationally, including overnight stays when required.

Working Pattern

• Field-based role covering stores across the UK.
• Regular travel with occasional overnight stays.
• Weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working on a rota basis.
• Flexibility to respond to business needs and provide cover at short notice.
• 35 hrs per week / 5 Days a week (Across 7 days)

Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
