Financial Controller - Statutory Accounts & Group Consolidation (Manchester, Hybrid) | £75,000We're working exclusively with a growing group business based in Manchester to appoint a Financial Controller. This is a senior, technically-focused role reporting to the CFO, with real ownership of the group's statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance across multiple territories.

You'll lead the preparation of statutory accounts for the UK entities and the group consolidated accounts, covering the full suite: P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statement, SOCIE and supporting notes. You'll also manage the audit relationship end-to-end, both with the group auditors and local audit firms overseas, and take responsibility for getting all local statutory filings delivered on time.

On the tax side, you'll prepare and sign off corporation tax packs, handle queries from the tax advisors, and oversee filings across other tax areas such as VAT, sales tax, payroll taxes and CIS. There's also an international dimension, working with overseas advisors on local statutory accounts and tax filings, and getting to grips with FX accounting given the group's overseas subsidiaries.

You'll work closely with the Head of Accounts to keep financial controls robust, support the CFO on budgeting and forecasting, and lead a financial accounts team, including process and systems improvement.

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
• At least 4 years in a finance department, with solid statutory accounts and tax knowledge
• Experience liaising with auditors across UK and international markets
• International transfer pricing exposure would be an advantage
• A track record of challenging existing processes and driving improvement
• Comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders and C-suite
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables)
