Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
Qualification - Electrical Engineering Degree, or HND/HNC, ideally working towards a degree or equivalent qualification or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship with sufficient post qualification experience.
Registration - Preferably registered with the Engineering Council as CEng/IEng or Eng Tech (working towards CEng/IEng) and a recognised technical organisation such as IEEE, IEC, or IET.
We are looking to recruit an experienced electrical engineer with proven construction experience to join the Capital Programmes Division which is a dynamic service within Manchester City Council. The service delivers a variety of construction projects and programmes and is responsible for developing and delivering Major and Minor Capital Programmes across the City. The current value of the programme is £200m pa.
The construction projects undertaken by the service are diverse, and include works relating to the school's maintenance programmes, the refurbishment of listed historic buildings owned by the city, art gallery refurbishments, improvement to the public realm, events infrastructure improvements, and Manchester Christmas Markets fabrication, and other M&E infrastructure commissions.

About the Candidate
Candidates will need to be competent in engineering design and project management within construction projects, inspecting and reporting on defects, new installations, specifications, calculations, feasibility studies on all types of buildings and also possess a good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, CDM Regulations and PSPC and JCT Building Contracts.
Professionally you will be able to deliver and manage contracts from commencement to completion within approved budgets and timescales. CAD skills are preferable and a working knowledge of related packages such as HEVACOMP.
