Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Prestwich, Greater Manchester
Contract: Temporary (Long-Term)
Full time/Part time: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm)
Pay: £105-£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: September 2026

A welcoming and well-established specialist SEN school in Prestwich is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering personalised support to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop essential life skills.
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
Support pupils with Autism, SEMH, communication needs and other additional needs within a structured environment.
Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
Implement EHCP targets, behaviour support plans and therapeutic strategies.
Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families and the wider school team.
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with SEND and making a meaningful difference every day.
The Successful Applicant Will
Hold a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND in an educational or care setting.
Be calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing and proactive approach.
Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full time.
Desirable
Experience working within a specialist SEN school.
PECS, Makaton or other alternative communication training.
Team Teach, MAPA or similar positive behaviour management training.
Experience implementing EHCPs and supporting pupils with complex needs.
Free access to CPD and safeguarding training.
Dedicated consultant and ongoing support throughout your placement.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check for both the Child and Adult Workforce, satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2025) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
