Mid Market Underwriter - Motor Fleet

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 depending on skills and experience

Do you love building strong relationships with brokers and customers to understand what really matters to them?

We're looking for a Motor Fleet Underwriter to join our experienced and collaborative team. You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers and customers, to proactively develop and profitably grow their existing book of business as well as identify new opportunities.

This role will involve regular broker visits across the North West market, so flexibility to travel is essential.

A bit about the job

This role exists to help Aviva deliver tailored insurance solutions for mid-market customers. You'll join our Manchester underwriting team, which works closely with brokers to provide expert advice and competitive products. Be a multiclass underwriter operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the existing book of business.

Build strong, meaningful relationships with brokers and/or customers through regular face-to-face meetings to make Aviva their insurer of choice. You'll play a key role in achieving our financial goals while building strong, lasting relationships.

Skills and experience we're looking for

• Proven underwriting experience in Motor Fleet - confident in assessing mid-market risks and making sound decisions.
• Relationship-building and communication skills - able to engage brokers and customers, understand needs, and negotiate effectively.
• Analytical and decision-making ability - skilled at interpreting data and risk factors to create tailored terms.
• Time management and prioritisation - capable of handling multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
• Professional development and compliance awareness - ACII qualification (or working towards) and knowledge of FCA rules and regulations.

• Starting salary between £35,000 and £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
