Property Claims Handler

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Claims Handler to join a well-established and highly regarded insurance brokerage in Manchester. Supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional claims service while working as part of a collaborative and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional who enjoys managing complex property claims, building strong relationships with clients and insurers, and providing expert technical support within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Property Claims Handler

• Manage a portfolio of commercial property claims from first notification through to settlement

•Provide technical guidance and advice on claims and settlements to both clients and colleagues.

• Maintain accurate and compliant claims records using the Acturis system.
• Handle claims enquiries via telephone, email and face-to-face, delivering a professional and responsive service.
• Produce accurate claims reports and verify insurers' confirmed claims experiences.
• Liaise effectively with insurers, loss adjusters and other third parties throughout the claims process.
• Organise and attend internal and client claims meetings where required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, insurers and suppliers.
• Ensure all claims are handled in line with FCA regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and regulatory changes through continuous professional development.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience of handling Property Claims is essential, with Liability Claims experience also being advantageous.
• Previous experience using Acturis and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial property claims and claims handling processes.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and insurers.
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional qualifications, or currently working towards them, would be advantageous.
• A positive team player who is happy to support colleagues when required.
• Good understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
