Our story

The Distefano family, spanning two generations, started San Carlo over 30 years ago and has seen it grow to twenty-five authentic Italian restaurants across the UK – from Covent Garden, Piccadilly and Knightsbridge in London to Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Cheshire and Manchester, with a growing number overseas – including Kuwait, Bangkok, Dubai and Miami, with additional restaurant openings planned as San Carlo continues to expand globally.

The role

We are looking for an organised and proactive HR Assistant to join our HR team. As a HR Assistant with San Carlo, you’re not just joining an award-winning People team, you're becoming part of something special.

Working closely with our HR Advisors, you will play a vital role in supporting our colleagues and managers, helping to ensure our people processes run smoothly and efficiently across the business.

Key Duties

• Provide administrative support to the HR Advisors and wider People team across our restaurants and Head Office functions.
• Assist HR Advisors with employee relations administration, including preparing documentation for disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance processes.
• Manage HR documentation including contracts, right to work checks, employee records, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
• Act as a first point of contact for routine HR queries, escalating more complex matters to the relevant HR Advisor where appropriate.
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Assist with HR initiatives, colleague engagement activities and people-focused projects across the business.

Salary: £28,000 per annum
