Civil Design Engineer in Manchester

Civil Design Engineer (5+ Years' Experience) - Manchester Vertical Recruitment is partnering with a well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering projects across the UK and internationally. Their portfolio spans residential, commercial, leisure and specialist structures, with work ranging from bespoke developments through to complex engineering projects.

Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Civil Design Engineer with 5+ years' UK consultancy experience to join their Manchester team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers and work closely with clients while delivering high-quality infrastructure designs across a diverse project portfolio.

The role will include

• Leading the design of highways and drainage schemes from concept through to construction * Producing and reviewing technical designs, reports and calculations * Managing client relationships and attending project meetings * Supporting and mentoring junior members of the engineering team * Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver projects on time and within budget What they're looking for: * 5+ years' experience within a UK civil engineering consultancy * Strong experience in highway and drainage design * Proficiency with MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage * Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D * Excellent communication skills and the confidence to manage projects and liaise directly with clients This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy working on a varied mix of UK and international projects, with genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development
