Accounting Supervisor – Banking Industry (Bilingual Eng/Spa)

A well-established international financial institution is seeking an Accountant Supervisor to join its Miami-based finance team. This individual will play a critical role in financial reporting, month-end close activities, regulatory reporting, audit support, and accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise within a banking or financial services environment, experience with regulatory reporting requirements, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and financial reports
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and account reconciliations
• Oversee fixed assets and prepaid accounts
• Supervise accounts payable activities and vendor documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to U.S. regulatory agencies
• Prepare tax reporting forms including 1042, 1042-S, 1099-INT, and 1099-NEC
• Coordinate reporting requirements with international headquarters
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits
• Assist with financial analysis and ad hoc reporting requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in "Accounting"
• 7–10 years of accounting experience within banking, financial services, or regulated financial institutions
• Strong experience managing month-end close processes
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with banking regulatory reporting
• Fluent in English and Spanish ( required)
• Microsoft Excel skills
• Focused on leveraging automation, process optimization, and procedural enhancements to strengthen controls, improve accuracy, and support operational excellence
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
