JOB SUMMARY

This position contributes to the success of Gemsa Enterprises by ensuring effective management of warehouse functions. This position involves optimizing workflows, managing inventory, supervising warehouse staff, adhering to company policies, safety standards, and quality expectations, and maintaining warehouse equipment.

The Assistant Warehouse Manager works closely with the Warehouse Manager to achieve operational excellence, meet customer demands, and ensure the continuous operation of warehouse equipment through effective maintenance scheduling and execution.

This position has many administrative responsibilities and requires proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ERP software. Bilingual Spanish Required.

KEY RESULTS&TASKS

A. Support daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently.:

• Achieve an on-time delivery rate of 90% or higher for shipping performance.
• Maintain a warehouse space utilization rate of 85%.or less.
• Ensure a 99% or higher accuracy rate in order fulfillment.

B. Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock management to prevent shortages or overstocking:

• Achieve 98% or higher inventory accuracy in cycle counts.
• Maintain a turnover ratio of 4 or higher (quarterly).
• Resolve 95% or higher of inventory discrepancies within 5 business days.

C. Implement and maintain efficient warehouse processes and layouts to improve productivity.:

• Achieve 10% or higher in reduction in processing time per task (quarterly).
• Increase throughput by 15% annually.
• Reduce operational bottlenecks by less than 10% each quarter (measured by incident reports and operational downtime).

D. Assist in preparing reports related to inventory, shipments, and staffing needs:

• Ensure 100% of reports are submitted within the designated deadlines (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
• Provide updates on inventory status at least twice a week.
• Ensure 99% or higher accuracy in all inventory and staffing reports.

E. Proactively address operational issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of warehouse operations:

• Resolve 95% or higher of operational issues within 24 hours.
• Implement a minimum of 4 process improvement initiatives per year.
• Employee Engagement: Achieve ≥ 85% positive employee feedback on the continuous improvement process.

F. Ensure the effective maintenance and regular servicing of warehouse equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prevent downtime.:

• Maintain 98% or higher of uptime for all warehouse equipment.
• Achieve 100% completion of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Limit downtime to less than 1% of operational hours per month.
• Reduce emergency maintenance incidents by less than 10% year-over-year.
• Ensure 100% adherence to the equipment maintenance schedule, with no missed service dates.

Education, licenses, & certification

• Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in same or similar positions in the food distribution industry
• Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Required: Current Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
