Responsibilities

• Safely operate your personal vehicle to deliver packages across designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
• Use mobile devices and route navigation tools to plan efficient delivery sequences and update delivery statuses in real-time.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients during deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols related to manual transmission operation, heavy lifting, and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and any incidents encountered during routes.

Experience

• Previous delivery driver experience preferred, especially with courier or package delivery roles involving personal vehicles or box trucks.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, including manual handling, moving heavy loads, and operating material handling equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Experience in commercial driving environments with knowledge of DOT regulations and weight handling in the workplace.
• Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating a box truck or similar vehicle; commercial truck driving experience is a plus.
• Ability to adhere to strict safety standards while performing manual lifting tasks and navigating busy routes.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during all interactions on the road and at delivery points.
