Draftsman – Custom Retail Displays & Experiential Events

Location: Miami, FL (On-Site)

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Flexibility to work late as needed based on project demand)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Draftsman with strong technical skills, a deep understanding of fabrication materials, and the ability to translate design concepts into precise, buildable shop drawings. The ideal candidate must be able to problem-solve, value engineer concepts, and optimize designs for efficiency and manufacturability.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently without micromanagement, while also collaborating effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop highly detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks for fabrication and production.
• Interpret client-provided designs, renderings, and sketches, ensuring that final builds remain true to the original vision.
• Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and production teams located in NY to ensure feasibility and structural integrity of designs.
• Value engineer concepts to ensure feasibility within project budgets while maintaining design integrity.
• Take initiative in problem-solving and offer solutions that improve design efficiency and manufacturability.
• Select and apply fabrication materials based on project requirements, including wood, metal, plastics, and composites.
• Troubleshoot design and construction challenges to enhance production efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with both English and Spanish-speaking team members and clients.
• Work under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sketchup or similar design software with strong technical drafting abilities.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required to communicate effectively with both clients and team members.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication materials and construction methods for custom displays and scenic builds.
• Experience reading and interpreting architectural and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to problem-solve and optimize designs for cost, efficiency, and feasibility.
• Experience working on custom fabrication projects, retail displays, or experiential environments is preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently without micromanagement, while also contributing to a team.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to read, write and type in English and Spanish
