Site Safety Manager

The Safety Site Manager leads site-level safety and health oversight for OCONUS natural-disaster recovery operations. This role develops and implements safety plans, conducts briefings and inspections, manages incident reporting, verifies corrective actions, and helps protect personnel working in dynamic, high-risk environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong construction, industrial, environmental, utilities, or disaster-response safety experience and can influence safe behavior at all levels of the operation. The Safety Site Manager must be visible, decisive, and comfortable addressing hazards associated with heat, damaged structures, debris, heavy equipment, remote conditions, and hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Program Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans, hazard controls, job hazard analyses, and required training or briefing processes.
• Field Inspections: Conduct routine work-area inspections, identify hazards, verify corrective actions, and document findings and recommendations.
• Incident Management: Lead or support the reporting, documentation, investigation, and follow-up of injuries, near misses, property damage, and safety incidents.
• Training & Briefings: Deliver daily safety briefings, orientation content, heat-stress awareness, PPE guidance, and task-specific safety communications.
• Compliance Monitoring: Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and employee compliance with CRS policies, approved safety plans, client requirements, and applicable standards.
• Leadership Coordination: Advise program and site leadership on risk trends, stop-work needs, corrective actions, and safety-resource requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Citizenship & Passport: U.S. citizenship and a current, valid U.S. passport are required for this position. Candidates must be able to meet applicable overseas entry, travel, credentialing, and client requirements.
• Safety Experience: At least 5 years of progressive safety, environmental health and safety, construction safety, industrial safety, or emergency-response safety experience is required.
• Credentials: OSHA 30 certification is required; OSHA 40 HAZWOPER may be required based on the assignment.
• Field Safety Leadership: Demonstrated experience conducting inspections, leading safety briefings, preparing incident documentation, and managing corrective actions.
• Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and control hazards in active construction, logistics, utilities, field-service, or disaster-recovery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Certifications: CHST, CSP, ASP, OHST, EMT, first aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, or comparable safety credentials are preferred.
• Austere Operations: Experience supporting disaster recovery, remote worksites, utilities, environmental remediation, or OCONUS operations is preferred.
• Spanish Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills are a plus.
• Deployment Experience: Prior experience supporting disaster response, remote worksites, austere environments, or OCONUS assignments is preferred.

Work Environment

• Citizenship & Passport: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current, valid U.S. passport. Ability to meet applicable entry, travel, credentialing, and client requirements for overseas assignments is required.
• Deployment Flexibility: Must be willing and able to deploy OCONUS or to other assigned disaster-response locations based on operational need. Geographic location and deployment duration may vary by assignment.
• Schedule Readiness: Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for the duration of the assigned deployment as operational needs require.
• Deployment Environment: This is a field-based disaster deployment role that may require work in high heat, humidity, tropical conditions, heavy rain, and rapidly changing operational environments.
• Site Hazards: Personnel may encounter damaged or unsteady buildings, uneven terrain, debris, heavy equipment, limited infrastructure, and potentially dangerous wildlife. Employees must follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site-access controls.
• Physical & Travel Requirements: The role requires the ability to travel independently and safely perform job-related duties in demanding field conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Variable Deployment: Assignments may be short- or long-term and may require relocation, extended time away from home, and flexibility in work location, schedule, and living conditions.
• Screening Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background, identity, work authorization, drug screening, credential verification, and contract-specific requirements.
