Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across complex technology environments. This role provides technical leadership in network architecture, security, connectivity, and infrastructure solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, cybersecurity requirements, and business objectives.

The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Application, and Business teams to design resilient network solutions, enhance security posture, and support highly available technology environments. This position will contribute to network standards, technology improvements, and security initiatives while ensuring reliable and scalable network operations.

Key Accountabilities / Job Functions

Network Architecture & Engineering

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network architectures across on-premises, cloud, and distributed environments.
• Develop and maintain network designs including:
• LAN/WAN architecture
• Network segmentation
• Routing and switching infrastructure
• Firewall architecture
• Wireless networking
• Secure remote connectivity
• SD-WAN solutions
• Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend network technologies and solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical leadership for network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure network designs support business and application requirements.
• Review network implementations to ensure alignment with approved standards and security requirements.

Network Security & Risk Management

• Design and implement secure network solutions aligned with cybersecurity best practices.
• Support security initiatives through:
• Network segmentation
• Access control implementation
• Secure connectivity models
• Defense-in-depth strategies
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot security technologies including:
• Firewalls
• VPN solutions
• Network access controls
• Intrusion prevention technologies
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement remediation plans.
• Support compliance requirements and security frameworks, including:
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework
• PCI DSS
• Internal security standards
• Analyze vulnerability assessment results and support remediation activities.

Cloud & Infrastructure Connectivity

• Design and support hybrid network environments connecting on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Provide network architecture support for cloud environments including Azure and AWS.
• Implement secure connectivity solutions across:
• Data centers
• Cloud environments
• Remote locations
• Enterprise facilities
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives through resilient network designs.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across infrastructure layers.

Operations, Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain accurate network configurations, documentation, and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure network assets and configurations are properly maintained within enterprise management systems.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• External vendors
• Business stakeholders
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering.
• 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex network environments.
• Experience working with security, infrastructure, and cloud technologies.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking principles and security best practices.
