Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer

to join their innovative engineering team. This role is critical for the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems and components for a variety of cutting-edge projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering principles, circuit design, power systems, and embedded systems.

You will be responsible for leading design projects from concept through to production, ensuring adherence to specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a lab and office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, circuit boards (PCBs), and power distribution systems.
• Perform electrical simulations and analyses to validate designs.
• Select appropriate electrical components and materials for various applications.
• Create detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Oversee the prototyping and testing of electrical designs, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure integrated system functionality.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and components to enhance product performance.
• Support manufacturing and production teams during the implementation phase of designs.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures and user manuals.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A Master's degree: is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience: in electrical design and development.
• Proven experience: in schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
• Strong understanding: of analog and digital circuits, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and power electronics.
• Experience: with simulation software (e.g., SPICE, PSpice).
• Knowledge: of relevant industry standards (e.g., UL, CE, FCC).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills: with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience: with laboratory test equipment and procedures.
• Proficiency: in project management is an advantage.
