Department: Web & Digital Marketing. Salary: Commensurate with experience/education.

Description

Supports a college or department website, including writing HTML documents, creating graphics, digitizing pictures, and inserting audio and video to enhance the look and feel of the website. Coordinates various web projects that uphold the image of the university to a worldwide audience.

Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure.

This position requires personnel to be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develops content and layout of assigned web pages, using graphics software specifically designed for publishing on the Web.
• Create and edit graphics for web and print; digitize images using scanning and digital camera equipment.
• Assists with quality and usability testing of web pages to ensure compliance with departmental quality standards.
• Coordinate with contacts and update information on the assigned website to ensure that the university is well represented.
• May administer a microcomputer-based Web server for a college or department.
• Coordinate assigned projects and lead the work of other Web staff assigned to the projects.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• MQ: "Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
• Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
• Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience."Translate user research and business requirements into intuitive, visually appealing digital experiences, including wireframes and prototyping in Figma.
• Understand and apply ARIA/WCAG standards.
