Front Desk Lead (Hotel) for TownePlace Suites Houston Northwest

Location: Houston, TX

Salary: Starting at $16.00 per hour

We are seeking a Front Desk Manager for an extended-stay TownePlace Suites Hotel in Houston, TX. You will be responsible for leading our front desk operations to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction and experience at the hotel.

In this role, you will work hand in hand with the General Manager to lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences and maintaining Marriott standards of quality and service.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Supervise, train and motivate front desk staff to provide expectational customer service
• Front Desk Performance: Manage daily front office operations, including check-in/check-out, reservations, and guest requests
• Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guests receive outstanding service and hospitality, responding promptly to guest needs and concerns.
• Team Cohesion: Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations
• Financial Performance: Prepare schedules, manage payroll submissions and monitor labor costs per the annual budget to hit performance metrics
• Sales and Marketing: Assist in achieving hotel revenue goals through upselling, effective inventory management, and guest loyalty initiatives
• Associate Management: Engage, train, and develop a high-performing team; provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee night audit process and ensure financial accuracy of daily reports
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Applicants will go through the Marriott's onboarding process.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that may impact guests, associates, or the hotel's reputation. Handle escalated guest issues and VIP guests with discretion and care
• Inventory Management: Maintain front desk equipment, supplies, and appearance according to brand standards
• Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with guests, associates, corporate stakeholders, and community partners.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience at the Front Desk or other hotel management positions. Marriott Brand Experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Proven ability to resolve guest issues effectively and professionally
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Knowledge of hotel property management systems (FOSSE or similar preferred)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business degree a plus

Position Type

This is a full-time position located in Houston, TX. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekends required.

Salary starting at $16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
