Blood Chemistry clinical Laboratory technologist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform blood specimen processing and clinical testing independently using Abbott Alinity and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics VITROS 5600 analyzers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood specimen processing (receiving, labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, storage, and documentation)
• Run clinical tests independently on:
• Abbott Alinity
• VITROS 5600
• Verify results and perform basic troubleshooting as needed
• Perform and document quality control (QC), calibrations, and maintenance per SOPs
• Recognize and document instrument flags, abnormal results, and specimen integrity issues (e.g., hemolysis, lipemia)
• Maintain accurate records in the LIS/EMR (if applicable) and follow reporting procedures
• Ensure compliance with lab safety practices and regulatory requirements
• Maintain inventory and assist with reagent management as needed

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience performing blood testing on Abbott Alinity and/or VITROS 5600 (required; specify if both are required)
• Ability to perform testing independently with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety, QC, and documentation standards
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
• Current certification (ASCP or equivalent) (if applicable)
• Experience with LIS systems and result verification workflows
• Additional analyzer troubleshooting experience
