Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our glazing team. In this role, you will lead the estimation process for commercial construction projects, develop accurate budgets, and manage projects from inception through completion. Your expertise will ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and seamless communication with clients and subcontractors.

We are looking for a candidate who is willing to grow with us and has a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects, as well as previous experience being in commercial glazing environments. The desired candidate will represent GreenLite Services LLC and ensure the needs of our customers are met. Knowledge in commercial glazing and doors is required.

Duties

• Ability to drive to project locations to determine scope of work
• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate project costs and material requirements
• Prepare detailed bids using various software, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing cost-saving strategies throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with clients to negotiate contracts, pricing, and scope of work to align project goals with budget constraints
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain quotes, review proposals, and ensure timely procurement of materials
• Oversee the review of construction management software and spreadsheets to monitor project progress and cost performance
• Lead the review of construction drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications
• Communicate effectively with clients, team members, suppliers, to facilitate smooth project execution from start to finish
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety compliance

Skills

• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings in a construction context
• Excellent negotiation skills for pricing discussions and contract negotiations
• Experience managing construction projects with a focus on cost control and budget estimation
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting
• Deep understanding of construction management for project tracking and documentation
• Ability to read and review construction drawings accurately for material estimation and scope clarification
• Knowledge of material cost estimating, procurement processes, and subcontractor management
• Construction industry experience with a focus on commercial projects; familiarity with contracts and legal considerations in construction estimates
• Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and negotiate terms confidently
• Construction site experience that enhances understanding of on-the-ground realities impacting estimates
