This Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist position offers the opportunity to take on an advanced technical role within a highly specialized transfusion medicine laboratory. The role is ideal for an experienced laboratory professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and contributing to continuous quality improvement while supporting exceptional patient care.
In this role, you will perform complex blood bank testing and technical laboratory procedures while ensuring compliance with established laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include monitoring quality control data, troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, maintaining laboratory equipment, managing inventory, accurately analyzing and reporting patient results, and ensuring all testing is completed with the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and attention to detail are essential for success in this highly specialized laboratory environment.
As a senior member of the team, you will play an important role in laboratory leadership, education, and process improvement. You will assist with training and mentoring students, new employees, and fellows, participate in validating new methodologies and technologies, support software and database implementations, and contribute to initiatives that enhance laboratory quality, efficiency, and patient safety.

The hours are 7am -3:30pm. The ideal candidate will be ASCP or AMT certified
