About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead public works and commercial construction projects throughout San Diego County.

This role manages projects from preconstruction through completion and serves as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal project teams.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial general contractor experience, understands project financials and contract administration, and can successfully manage multiple projects while maintaining strong client relationships.

What You Will Do

• Lead multiple commercial and public works construction projects simultaneously
• Manage projects from preconstruction through final completion
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and schedules
• Negotiate subcontractor agreements and oversee project buyout
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and owner communications
• Lead project meetings and coordinate internal and external project teams
• Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, costs, and profitability
• Partner with Superintendents to maintain schedule, quality, and project execution
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions
• Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and public-sector clients
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years of construction project management experience with a commercial General Contractor
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
• Experience with subcontractor negotiations, project buyout, and contract administration
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and owner communications
• Ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously
• Experience coordinating directly with Superintendents and field teams
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling software
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and client relationship skills
• Ability to work on-site in San Diego, California

Preferred Qualifications

• Public works construction experience
• Experience delivering fire stations, civic buildings, libraries, community centers, public safety facilities, or similar municipal projects
• Experience with Design-Build projects
• Experience with CMAR delivery methods
• Established relationships within the San Diego construction market
• Experience mentoring Project Engineers or Assistant Project Managers
