We recently completed a significant acquisition that added new clients, staff, and capabilities to our platform, and we are continuing to grow through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.

We have made a substantial investment in technology to support our team, including modern practice management, tax preparation, and workflow systems. Our approach to work is built for the way accountants actually want to work today: in office collaboration most of the week, paired with real infrastructure and flexibility to support remote work when needed.

The Role

We are looking for an Accounting Director to lead a team of approximately 20 accountants across our tax and accounting practice. This is a high volume firm, and the right candidate will be comfortable managing scale, process, and throughput without sacrificing quality or turnaround time.

This role is built for someone who wants to lead people and process, not chase billable client relationships. Client facing time is limited by design. Your primary focus will be your team: their output, their development, their workflow, and the quality of the work moving through the firm.

What You Will Do

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of approximately 20 accountants handling individual, trust, partnership, C corporation, and S corporation returns
• Oversee workflow, capacity planning, and deadlines across a high volume return practice
• Serve as the technical point of escalation for complex return issues across entity types
• Drive quality control and review standards across the team's work product
• Partner with firm leadership on staffing, training, and process improvement
• Help evaluate and implement technology and workflow tools to improve team efficiency
• Support integration of new staff and processes as the firm continues to grow through acquisition

What You Bring

• Strong technical background across individual, trust, partnership, C corp, and S corp returns
• Prior experience managing or supervising a team of accountants, ideally in a high volume environment
• Comfort operating in a fast moving, growing firm rather than a steady state practice
• Strong process orientation: you think in terms of workflow, throughput, and quality control, not just individual returns
• CPA license preferred
• Experience with modern tax and practice management software
