Role Description The Architectural Drafter role is a contract position in a hybrid work arrangement based in San Diego, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed architectural and construction drawings, updating plans based on design revisions, and coordinating with designers and project managers to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

The drafter will translate conceptual designs into clear technical documents for permitting and construction, verify measurements and specifications, and help maintain drawing standards and documentation. The role also involves supporting sustainable design objectives through thoughtful detailing and efficient planning.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings, with the ability to produce clear, buildable plans.
• Foundational knowledge of Architecture and Planning principles relevant to residential and custom home projects.
• Proficiency in technical Drawing, including digital drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
• Experience interpreting building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements is beneficial.
• Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, builders, and clients in a hybrid environment.
• Relevant education in architecture, drafting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
