Warehouse Site Manager

The Warehouse Site Manager will support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), US Department of Defense (DoD) in San Diego, CA. The Site Manager will have full authority to act for the Contractor on all matter relating to Contract Performance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The Site Manager shall provide overall supervision for the Contractor employees to include, but not limited to:

• planning and managing the contract professionally
• coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources
• ensuring that accurate and timely reports are provided
• effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered
• execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost
• The Site Manager shall provide overall management coordination and serve as the central point of contact (POC) with the Government for all work under the contract

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Distribution Management, Business Management, or Business Administration
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in Distribution Management -OR- have at least ten (10) years of management experience in distribution operations similar to the size and complexity to the operations offered in this contract
• Must have experience shall include a minimum of three (3) years of experience using automated warehouse management systems within the past five (5) years
• Must possess the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and successfully complete the work
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated DoD supply chain management experience; highly preferred

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.

Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.

Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Experience

Required
