Duties
- Support baristas with drink preparation, especially during peak hours
- Manage the POS with cash handling and credit card transactions
- Demonstrate excellent customer service
- Handle customer feedback with sincerity and professionalism
- Lead by example by upholding company values and promoting a positive team culture
- Assist managers in assigning barista tasks and delegating duties per shift as needed
- Aid with opening and/or closing store procedures and protocols
- Leadership & Training
- Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in delivering high‑quality customer service
- Help with coaching baristas through On‑Job Training (OJT)
- Participate in and complete company trainings when necessary
- Practice a high standard for hospitality and our mission to make friends through tea
- Assist in addressing customer complaints and de‑escalation solutions
- May aid with call‑off coverage but is not responsible for creating schedules
- Store Sales Performance
- Maintain awareness of sales performance and assist operations as needed
- Assist in marketing & promotion activities
- Inventory Management
- Ensure inventory is arranged and managed properly
- Help forecast inventory usage and delivery
- Support management with ordering and receiving inventory as needed
Qualifications
- Passionate tea lover
- Barista experience of 1+ years (preferred)
- Leadership experience of 1+ years (preferred)
- Food handling certificate required (company can assist)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fun personality that enriches CHAGEE culture
- Fast learner who thrives in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong teamwork ethic and work ethic
- Flexible schedule availability: retail hours, evenings, weekends, holidays
- Willingness to travel within a 20‑mile radius for training or other stores
- Open to learning additional responsibilities and ad‑hoc assignments
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking required
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld devices and POS equipment
- Frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
