Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

Experience performing production VMware-to-Hyper-V migrations, including planning, cutover, and post-migration validation.

Strong Working Knowledge Of Veeam Backup & Replication, Especially

Instant VM Recovery (IVMR) to Hyper-V with on-the-fly conversion from VMware sources.

Network and IP mapping, traffic verification rules, and cutover coordination.

Strong operational experience with both VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter) and Microsoft Hyper-V, including standalone hosts, failover clusters, Hyper-V Manager, and virtual switches.

Roles & Responsibilities

Execute end-to-end VM migrations from VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) to Microsoft Hyper-V using Veeam Instant VM Recovery (IVMR) and the NetApp Shift Toolkit.

Plan and run migration waves, including sizing, scheduling, change records, pre-checks, cutover steps, rollback planning, and post-migration validation.

Use Veeam Backup & Replication to support migrations, including backup and replica jobs, IVMR to Hyper-V, network and IP mapping, and final cutover with limited downtime.

Set up and operate the NetApp Shift Toolkit on ONTAP storage, including SMB 3.0 and NFS shares, SMB Constrained Delegation, export policies, and large-scale disk conversion workflows.

Prepare source VMs for migration, including VMware Tools removal, driver staging, and disk cleanup, and make sure target hosts and clusters are ready before each wave.

Validate migrated workloads on Hyper-V, including boot, integration services, networking, storage paths, and application owner smoke tests, and work issues through to resolution.

Salary Range

$64,000 - $130000 a year
