Join BKF Engineers as a Lead Project Surveyor

BKF Engineers is excited to invite applications for the Lead Project Surveyor position! This crucial role involves overseeing survey project delivery, coordinating teams, and upholding high-quality standards. As a Lead Project Surveyor, you'll make key technical decisions, mentor junior staff, and spot opportunities for expanding our services.

You will also assist in proposal development, participate in project meetings, and facilitate client interactions. Additionally, this position supports business growth by actively promoting BKF's services and exploring new project prospects. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Preparing construction staking calculations by reviewing plans and interpreting CAD files
• Creating comprehensive mapping deliverables, such as boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
• Processing field data collected using total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and unmanned aerial systems
• Developing 3D models of sites and structures for various stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Travelling to diverse job sites and offices as necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• 4+ years of progressively responsible office surveying experience
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT certification is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Autodesk Civil 3D
• Experience in construction staking, including plan reading, construction calculations, and cut sheet preparation
• Familiarity with processing laser scanning data, including registration and 3D modeling is a bonus
• Ability to lead and initiate special projects as needed
• Flexibility in hours may be required
• Some travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be necessary
• Minimum of 3 days per week in the office

Physical Demands

Must be able to regularly communicate, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Occasionally, may lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with support.

Work Conditions: This role may involve exposure to moderate sounds typical of an office setting. You will work in a high-stress, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be necessary.

• The typical salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salaried position paid bi-weekly.
