Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Senior Project Engineer to support the management of construction projects in San Diego as an owner’s representative. In this role, you will support day-to-day field oversight while assisting in coordinating all aspects of the project lifecycle.

Your efforts will support field observation, construction administration, project controls, and overall project management activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits and field observations to monitor construction progress, quality, and conformance with plans and specifications.
• Document field conditions and progress, log issues, and coordinate resolution with contractors, designers, and the owner.
• Review and process submittals and RFIs, tracking status through to resolution.
• Review change orders for accuracy and conformance with contract requirements.
• Support project scheduling, monitor milestones, and help identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders.
• Prepare and distribute regular project updates and reports.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project engineering or management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and industry standard tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, eBuilder, Bluebeam).

Candidate Differentiators

• California healthcare experience.
• Field inspection or construction administration experience.
• Data analytics and data visualization experience (e.g., Power BI).

Working Conditions

• Flexible work environment with typical work schedule from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Ability to travel to various construction sites within the San Diego area.
• Ability to walk, stand, and navigate uneven terrain; climb ladders and stairs; and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Tolerance for working in various weather conditions.

Pay Range

The salary offered will be based on factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
