Data Scientist - Finance Data Science

As a Data Scientist, you contribute to this mission by using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to tackle complex business challenges, particularly within finance, where you build models that forecast future outcomes and provide actionable insights to help the company make informed decisions.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do

• Applying scientific methods to solve real-world business problems using data
• Utilizing cutting edge statistical and machine learning methods to dig deep into complex data to deliver data-driven solutions across all areas of the business but primarily Enterprise Finance
• Employing broad and deep knowledge of statistics, analytics, and machine learning to contribute to and enhance Best Buy's core data science capabilities
• Mining large structured and unstructured data appropriately to glean actionable insights and to make recommendations on how the data can be used to help solve complex business problems
• Communicating with business partners to effectively translate models and solutions to different audiences
