Sales Representative – Promotional Products & Corporate Awards (Hunter Role)

Location: Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN (Hybrid / Field Sales)

Compensation

$45,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission (On BOTH New & Repeat Orders) Note: To ensure immediate cash flow, you will be handed a starter portfolio of existing clients on your first day, allowing you to collect commission checks while ramping up your new business development.

About the Role

Are you a relentless sales hunter who loves building relationships and winning net-new business? We are seeking an on-staff Sales Representative to aggressively expand our footprint in the Minneapolis-St. Paul corporate market.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind finding new business opportunities for high-end promotional products, branded merchandise, and corporate milestone awards. You will target mid-to-large Twin Cities corporations, HR departments, and marketing agencies to capture their seasonal and ongoing branding needs.

Promotional products and corporate awards rely heavily on repeat seasonal orders (annual banquets, corporate events, holiday gifts)—meaning your earning potential compounds year over year as you build your book of business.

What the Compensation Math Looks Like

• Baseline salary- security to support you while you build your pipeline.
• Hit $312,500 in sales volume to reach an average target of $70,000+ in total compensation.
• Hit $562,500+ in sales volume to clear $90,000+ in total compensation.
• There is absolutely no cap on what you can earn.

The Launchpad: You will hit the ground running with an established base of local clients transferred to your name on Day 1. You will manage these re-orders for immediate commission revenue, while strategically using these existing success stories as case studies to break into new corporate accounts across the Twin Cities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive New Business: Execute a high-volume prospecting strategy including cold outreach, local B2B networking, and digital prospecting.
• Target Key Decision Makers: Connect directly with Twin Cities HR managers (for employee recognition/awards) and Marketing Directors (for promotional swag).
• Consultative Selling: Understand client branding guidelines to recommend tailored merchandise and high-quality award solutions.
• Account Management: Maintain strong relationships with the accounts you close to seamlessly secure their annual and seasonal re-orders.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of B2B sales experience (experience in promotional products, printing, advertising, or corporate gifting is highly preferred).
• Mindset: A proven "hunter" mentality with a track record of building a pipeline from scratch.
• Activity-Driven: Comfortable meeting early activity metrics (e.g., 30 outbound touches per day) while building your book of business.
• Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Minneapolis-St. Paul business landscape and corporate networks.

Responsibilities Include

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, including corporations, retailers, resorts, schools, athletic associations, and other businesses focused on providing custom merch for their retail customers
• Develop and execute a cold calling strategy to target prospects
• Collaborate with internal design and production teams to create custom product offerings
• Manage administrative aspects of the role including order entry, calendar management, proposals, and reporting
• Stay up to date with industry trends and market conditions to identify areas for improvement and growth
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and following up with all customers in a timely manner
