About the Role

As a 2nd Grade Teacher, you'll make a lasting impact during one of the most important years of a child's educational journey. Second grade is a time of tremendous academic growth, increasing independence, and developing confidence. Through engaging instruction, meaningful relationships, and a supportive classroom community, you'll help students build the skills and mindset they need to succeed in the years ahead.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and continuous growth. You’ll be supported, coached, and encouraged while also trusted to bring your instructional voice and creativity to your classroom.

You will

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to Minnesota Academic Standards
• Teach using high-quality curriculum, including: Math Expressions (math). Wonders (literacy) FOSS (science), and TCI (social studies)
• Intentionally teach social-emotional learning using the Fly Five SEL curriculum, helping students develop empathy, responsibility, self-management, and collaboration skills
• Use Responsive Classroom practices to build a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Support students’ academic readiness and social-emotional development as they prepare for middle school
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and contribute to school-wide initiatives
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
• Communicate openly and effectively with students, families, and colleagues
