Role Description The Assistant Infant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Edina, MN. This position supports the Lead Infant Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants, including feeding, diapering, maintaining hygiene, and monitoring individual needs.

The Assistant Infant Teacher helps implement daily routines and age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration, early communication, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized classroom, following health and safety guidelines, and documenting observations to support each child’s growth.

The role also involves communicating regularly and professionally with families and colleagues, participating in team meetings, and supporting the Christian values and mission of Wooddale Academy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Early Childhood Development and Child Development appropriate for infants.
• Ability to support Teaching and Curriculum Development for age-appropriate, nurturing infant activities.
• Strong Communication skills for partnering with families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Experience working in infant or toddler classrooms, child care centers, or similar early childhood settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation practices in an infant classroom, including adherence to licensing regulations.
• Capacity to lift, carry, and engage safely with infants and to be active on the floor and in the classroom throughout the day.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, demonstrate reliability and professionalism, and support a Christian learning environment while respecting diverse backgrounds.
