1st Grade Teacher

Oakhurst STEAM Academy provides students with unique integrated experiences that incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications leading to deeper comprehension and increased student achievement.

We are a partial magnet school serving grades K-5 in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, and the first magnet school in the district to open with a STEAM focus. We opened in the fall of 2015 with 617 students, and have worked since then to provide our students with high-quality educational opportunities focusing on science, technology, engineering, art and math.

We implement this focus by integrating project and problem-based learning across all subject areas, providing students with an elementary computer science curriculum, and exposing them to content in real-world contexts.

With the support of dedicated staff, parents and community partners, we are committed to developing compassionate, life-long learners, leaders and contributors in a constantly developing, technologically-advanced global society.

Pay: $43,590.00 - $66,926.00 per year
