Early Beginnings Before and After School Program

We are looking for individuals that enjoy working with school age children, grades kindergarten through middle school. Our teachers are responsible for planning/implementing activities for the children in their class every afternoon and following the daily schedule. Activities will enhance each child’s experience while providing a safe and engaging environment that enriches each child’s afternoon.

After School Schedule/Hours

Monday-Friday 2:50pm to 6:00pm

Before School Schedule/Hours

Monday-Friday: 6:20am to 8:20am

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily activities in accordance to the weekly schedule and specials.
• Management with developmental considerations in mind for an environment that is safe, engaging, interactive and developmentally appropriate
• Oversee the safety of all children during transition times and throughout the afternoon.
• Assist with daily snacks and communication with caregivers.
• Provide a classroom environment that encourages children to explore, create, develop relationships for all.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and is punctual daily.
• Maintain professional conduct with students, caregivers, staff and vendors at all times.
• Encourage and facilitate problem solving, interaction and peer relations.
• Adhere to all Early Beginnings and Mountain Island Day Community Charter codes of conduct, ethical behaviors and professional development.

Desired Skills and Experiences

• Have NC Qualifications for Employment in Child Care letter. Preferred. If you do not have it, upon employment you will be walked through the process of obtaining it.
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, be able to sit on the floor and get up from the floor with ease.
• Previous classroom experience of 3 to 5 years. Preferred
• Current CPR / First Aid Training Preferred
• NC State School-Age Care Credential or School Age Care SWCDC Preferred
• NC Prevent Child Abuse Certificate Preferred

Compensation

• Competitive hourly wages.
