Private Event Chef

OVERVIEW

We are looking for seasoned culinary professionals to help us execute our catered events!

This position reports directly to our Sous Chefs, and is responsible for following our culinary and operational guidelines while ensuring accurate and efficient production of our menu while onsite at events and at our HQ. Each day we strive to ensure QC Catering offers the freshest quality of food and the highest class client experience, and with your help, we aim to continue doing so!

WORKLOAD / HOURS

Expected hours vary between busy and slow seasons. Open availability during busy season averages about 30-40 hours per week, and about half as much during slower seasons. In slower seasons there are opportunities to assist in other areas of the operation to help fill hours. We're mainly looking for contract workers but part time positions are also available. Shifts can be at our main kitchen or at our offsite events.

Gratuities are also possible when working events.

REQUIREMENTS |

• Minimum of 5 years culinary experience (Ideally off-site catering experience)
• Must be able to drive fleet vehicles to be considered for Event Chef roles (Valid Driver's License)
• Must be able to lift 35lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
• Knowledge of food preparation and existing health and safety standards.
• Solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and related processes.
• Dedication to providing a great customer end experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES |

• Ensure proper preparation of menu items, equipment and safety measures.
• Visually inspect, select and use only the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, fowl, and other food products of the highest standard in preparation for all menu items.
• Read and employ math skills for following recipes.
• Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items for production in work space.
• All necessary event functions while onsite, reporting to the Event Lead while at events.
• Assist in scheduling of culinary team members.
• Assist in purchasing of food and paper products.
• Assist in menu creation for QC Direct, Full Service and Weddings.
• Observe production flow, and make adjustments in order to adhere to control procedures for cost and quality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
