About the Position

We are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to take charge of comprehensive user experiences within a designated product area, combining both discovery and delivery phases effectively.

Your role will involve shaping the product vision, enhancing team practices, and thoughtfully incorporating AI into our design strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery initiatives to pinpoint high-impact opportunities.
• Develop product direction through insightful problem framing.
• Establish success metrics and assess project outcomes.
• Create scalable and holistic experiences across product landscapes.
• Utilize AI and cutting-edge technologies to enhance research synthesis, concept exploration, and design iteration.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Mentor junior designers, enhancing their craft, product insight, and familiarity with modern tools.
• Uphold and elevate design quality through rigorous critique.

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8+ years of experience in product or UX design.
• Expert in Figma and contemporary design workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product strategies and roadmaps.
• Deep experience leading discovery and research projects.
• Proven capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to refine design processes and enhance collaboration with engineering teams.
• Strong systems thinking in relation to features and user journeys.
• Ability to clearly articulate and advocate for design choices while managing stakeholder expectations.

Portfolio Expectations

• Case studies exhibiting leadership in a product area or major project.
• Examples showcasing discovery processes, problem framing, and defined outcomes.
• Work that navigates multiple features or user pathways.
• Compelling storytelling that connects design decisions to measurable impact.

Compensation and Benefits

At Cengage, we offer a robust Total Rewards package that supports and empowers our employees. The expected salary range for this position is $77,100.00 - $90,000.00 USD, with eligibility for a discretionary incentive bonus program based on performance.
