Assistant Graphic Designer

Red Star Merchandise is an established, thriving, and growing music merchandise company seeking an Assistant Graphic Designer to join our team.

The Assistant Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visual text and imagery concepts based on client needs and brand standards, selecting colors, fonts, and other design elements to creatively communicate concepts, collaborating with the Art Director as well as Account Managers, and clients to create one of a kind designs, adhering to deadlines, and providing designs and art edits that comply with our creative standards.

Core Responsibilities (include the following, but are not limited to):

• Create and design strong graphic and text based one-of-a-kind designs based on information provided by clients and management art direction
• Build precise print ready art files for designs to be put into production
• Create mockups for merchandise, and accessories
• Assist with creative asset management and file archiving
• Design and layout concept decks
• Communicate design choices clearly with Art Director and Account Managers, and evaluates said choices critically with client needs in mind
• Track each project (including time spent) from start to finish
• Meet all deadlines, and communicate any pending or ongoing challenges that may affect deadlines
• Researching and exploring emerging global market trends to develop products that align with client needs and the evolving market landscape.

Qualifications

• BA in Graphic Design, or similar field, or equivalent amount of related experience
• A portfolio is required as part of the application and should demonstrate strong design capabilities in color theory, composition, concept development, and typography.
• 2+ years design experience
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Ability to work well within a team and across departments
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
• Committed to excellence and highly detail oriented
• Positive attitude that contributes to the overall success of a collaborative environment
• Passion for the music industry, apparel graphics, and fashion
• A strong desire to learn and a drive for continuous growth
