Lower School Assistant Teacher

The 3rd Grade Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and student-centered classroom that promotes students' academic, social, and emotional growth. While primarily assigned to 3rd Grade, this role may also provide support in other Lower School, Early Childhood, or Upper School classrooms as needed.

The Assistant Teacher collaborates with faculty, helps maintain a positive learning environment, assists with instruction and classroom management, and contributes to the school's mission of providing an inclusive and nurturing educational experience. Responsibilities include supporting daily classroom activities, supervising students, and fostering meaningful relationships within the school community.

Description

Episcopal School of Nashville seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative, and student-centered 3rd Grade Assistant Teacher to join our Lower School faculty. This position is mainly focused on assisting 3rd Grade but may also include assisting in other classrooms (possibly in Early Childhood or Upper School) as well based on need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Elementary Education or a related field
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
• Comfort using classroom technology and educational software
• Demonstrates an appreciation for and commitment to Episcopal School of Nashville's Episcopal identity, including the belief in the inherent dignity and worth of every person

Salary

$31,500 - $36,750 per year
