About the role

We are hiring a part-time middle school and high school Math Teacher to carry the math program for 7-9th grade. You will teach math across the week on a part time basis. It is a 20 hour a week role. It can be expanded to 30 hours a week if the teacher can include some humanities courses.

Academy for GOD is a non-public Category 3 school serving roughly 240 students K–12 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. We are a Christian school installing a coherent, evidence-based academic program across every core subject. Our shared instructional method is Explicit Instruction (Anita Archer model), and we favor physical materials over digital wherever possible.

Responsibilities

• Teach 7-9th grade math courses.
• Possibility of teaching humanities courses.
• Create engaging lesson plans and assessments aligned with course objectives.
• Differentiate instruction to meet student needs.
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students and families.
• Maintain accurate grades and records.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment.
• Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to strengthen the science program.
• Partner with the Principal of Secondary, Math Lead (Janae Castro), and Director of Curriculum & Instruction on planning and student progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
