Position Summary
The Enterprise Data and Application Architect will work closely with technical teams, business partners, and executive leadership to design modular, scalable solutions that address current business needs while establishing a foundation for long-term growth.
This role will serve as the primary architecture point of contact for the development team and will provide strategic direction across cloud data platforms, enterprise applications, system integrations, automation solutions, and platform migrations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support a cloud-based ecosystem for enterprise-wide analysis of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Define enterprise data architecture and cloud data models from a holistic perspective, ensuring alignment with business, operational, analytical, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, manage, and own the complete data lifecycle, from raw data acquisition and transformation through end-user consumption.
- Design and guide the development of enterprise applications and BOT-based automation solutions using .NET and related Microsoft technologies.
- Establish reusable application frameworks, shared services, APIs, and automation components that support enterprise scalability.
- Define architecture standards for front-end, back-end, integration, data, and automation solutions.
- Evaluate opportunities to automate manual business processes using BOT workflows, APIs, direct system integrations, and enterprise applications.
- Ensure that BOTs and applications are designed with appropriate logging, monitoring, exception handling, auditability, security, and operational support.
- Provide architectural direction for enterprise applications developed in .NET, Java, and other approved technology platforms.
- Design fit-for-purpose solutions that align with customer strategic plans, enterprise architecture principles, and technology roadmaps.
- Create and maintain architecture artifacts that illustrate how information is stored, processed, integrated, secured, and accessed.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across operational, analytical, and application environments.
- Lead the design of ETL and ELT pipelines, APIs, real-time integrations, and event-driven architectures.
- Define patterns for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid application and data architectures.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and provide leadership for CI/CD automation pipelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project leads, management, infrastructure teams, security teams, and customers to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Participate actively in technical design reviews and architecture governance discussions.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve development, automation, data management, performance, and operational support.
- Support team members in troubleshooting production issues and assist with communication to appropriate stakeholders.
- Mentor developers, engineers, and architects and contribute to the growth of overall team capabilities.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of experience in data architecture, application architecture, data modeling, database design, or enterprise solution design.
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong experience designing enterprise applications and automated BOT workflows using .NET technologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, background services, and related Microsoft development frameworks.
- Experience defining architecture patterns for reusable, scalable, and supportable automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of front-end and back-end application architecture.
- Familiarity with Java and other enterprise application development technologies.
- Strong background in data governance, metadata management, master data management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
- Experience with enterprise data architecture frameworks and design methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data lake, data warehouse, data lakehouse, and modern data stack concepts.
- Experience with Medallion Architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
- Experience with enterprise integration, REST APIs, web services, messaging, and real-time streaming technologies.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Spark, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications with EHRs, databases, APIs, document repositories, and third-party systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data security, application security, compliance, and privacy requirements, including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Understanding of identity and access management, encryption, audit logging, secrets management, and secure coding practices.
- Experience designing data models that support reporting, analytics, operational applications, and AI or machine-learning use cases.
- Familiarity with DevOps and DataOps practices, including source control, automated testing, deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD for applications and data pipelines.
- Experience with production monitoring, application telemetry, incident management, and operational support.
