Sr. Graphic Design Specialist

The successful candidate will serves as the creative, graphic design expert for the Local Church Services team. This role requires someone able to work closely with local church leaders and pastors to develop UMC brand and custom logo packages, print collateral, online ads, and promotional items.

The candidate will consult and equip local church leaders with best practices in design to help develop and/or improve the brand identity of local churches and its ministries across marketing channels. They will work in collaboration with other teams throughout the agency to achieve the goals of the Local Church Services team.

This position requires the development of high quality design/copy layout artwork to be used to provide multimedia integrated marketing communications materials. The candidate must be able to collaborate with internal and external clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Graphic Design or a related field BA/BFA; or equivalent work experience
• Must be proficient in both Microsoft and MAC platforms with an expert level in the Adobe Creative Cloud software. Advanced knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, is mandatory.
• A basic knowledge of prepress and print production processes. Needs a strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts
• A strong knowledge of structure and polity of The United Methodist Church is needed.
• Ability to work independently, as well as within a team setting, with full project ownership is needed. Will need to meet tight deadlines and adapt when needed to changes needed by the client or project focus.
• Minimum of 2 years’ of progressive graphic design experience in a marketing agency or department.
